Week 1 - Day 5

Today started with shadowing the 2200 - 0200 watch to work on my quals, more sleep lost but I got my last POOW and BDO shadows handled before going to sleep. Which leaves my two remaining MOOW shadows to do during the rest of the duty day. My biggest issue will be not having lib to take a nap on but I should be able to handle those last two shadows and my third room inspect without much effort.
The watchstanders who were on became less and less informative as the night progressed but I have a fairly good grasp of the information for those positions with the exceptions of a few gaps which seem to be general knowledge gaps for all the people I've shadowed.
I got about 30 minutes of sleep after all was said and done. We needed to move quickly this morning because Chief's call caused a muster to be held at 0540. Chief Avers gave a speech about the standing Captains mast results from Thursday, mostly a heap of sailors loosing pay and disciplinary action for a hotel party and one person being processed for military separation due to huffing a computer air canister. He then gave us what us newcomers have been told is a fairly standard Chief lecture on "sexploitation" which begins as follows: "You're all ugly, and porn stars don't want to be friends with you on social media." This is followed by information about not sending pictures via social media especially explicit content.
Indoc went as to be expected, we mustered up by 0630 and I rushed to the New Jersey and grabbed myself breakfast. Todays loot was bagged maple flavored pancakes, an orange caparison, a bagel and peanut butter. The topics for the last day was consumer awareness, car buying, meeting insurance needs, operational risk management, and then active scenarios in a module called "Party Time". This was punctuated by the normal breaks and lunch from "Main Street" at the galley which was American. I had a chicken sandwich and mac an' cheese.
Today was a duty day so upon return to the Porter when lib was dropped I was stuck in the barracks but not on duty, I finished my last two MOOW shadows and then passed out for an unknown amount of time. Coming too I mustered with my duty section at 1930, however due to my Pizza being delivered at the same time I was late and am beginning to get the reputation of someone who doesn't show up on time. I'll need to reverse that as it's something that's true of my personality but need to not have associated with me here.
The rest of the night until taps was a blur, duty section 4 currently has a good amount of bodies so I didn't end up active during sweepers and stumbled up to my room to eat and wait for 2200 at which time I crawled into bed and passed out.
